Excellent question Safiya. Well, any day I would go with Autopilot. However, AutoGluon comes with more than just tabular data. With AutoGluon, you can do AutoML with images (image classification and object detection) and text (NLP and NLU).

If you're dealing tabular data and data size is less than 5GB, AutoPilot just works. For AutoGluon tabular, you have to build and maintain the custom container on Amazon SageMaker, and other things that come with it.

This article, https://medium.com/@elesin.olalekan/automate-the-end-to-end-automl-lifecycle-with-amazon-sagemaker-autopilot-and-amazon-step-functions-d5589a569853, is based on Amazon SageMaker Autopilot.
